Well, the end of another year is almost here! As I was watching Leah play this morning I thought to myself, "sure wish I could write down all these different moments of happiness I enjoy daily", haha, then I remembered I do have a this little blog I started!
So I'll play catch up, starting with April 2014.
It was in April that I began caring for Leah, our number 7 grandchild. I quit working at Best of Times; a wonderful, locally owned gift shop. My youngest son took a job out of state, and his wife needed to refer her clients to another detail oriented house cleaning fanatic....aka me! So House Cleaning Services began. So I watch Leah who is now two, Monday thru Thursday and clean houses on Fridays! It's a perfect fit for this grandma of eight with number nine arriving in March 2015!!
The happiness I speak of is the opportunity I get to see my grand children growing up. And they are growing so fast! Today is my first born grandchilds 12th birthday! Where did 12 years go??? I think, in 2015, April and September are the only two months we don't have a grand child or one of their parents birthdays!
I'm still a little old school. I still believe that grandma has advice, wisdom and knowledge to share. I listen without judgment, I love unconditionally, and pray constantly! So being able to be at home is a real blessing to me. And hopefully to my grandchildren!
This year I've noticed the benefits of being a grandma included more prayer time, study time and time to just love on a grandchild! I believe I'm even a better wife now that I'm home most days making our house a home for my husband to find his rest in after a long, hard day. I've learned to simplify our lives, budget better, and make things stretch! Although, I'm not quite the Proverbs 31 woman yet, I'm working on it!
And mostly, I'm happy. Really. Very happy.
"It is well with my soul."
Thanks for following me, I'll try to write more in 2015 as the need arises instead of playing catch up.

FOOTBALL Season is here!
Well, here we are, KState Wildcats and KC Chiefs! Then there is Fantasy Football...are you feeling sorry for me yet? It starts on Thursday night and goes through Monday night. Constant....I mean constant football talk!!!!
My new attitude, learn the game so you can have conversation with this man!! I'm a good wife!
But seriously I do love the game, KState especially! But I still don't live it..must be a guy thing!! I know my hubby is hoping, someday, I'll be like him and talk all the time about football! Uh...probably not! I have so many other interests, this is just one!!
I love the excitement, the talent of the college age player, and the story behind the player. Not just the game!
Hope you all have a great football season...as well as a beautiful Fall!

In The Quiet of the morning
I'm wide awake most mornings by 5, so I fix my husband a lunch and get him out the door to his job by 6.
The house is now quiet. All my thoughts start pouring through my head. So I close my eyes and start to tell God how grateful I am for the many blessings He has provided. I share feelings as a mom with Him and He comforts me. Its in this quietness that I'm refueled by His word and His promises.
I'm praying for many these days, those with cancer battles before them, Alzheimer challenges, our government leaders, friends needing jobs, marriages, and my own family members.
God is good, after all these prayers I'm overwhelmed with a peacefulness and a joy that is hard to describe.
I love the quiet of the morning! God bless your day!

Time Passes Quickly..
Eight months ago I wrote about my Buddy cat and then nothing for eight months! Today my goal is to catch up my thoughts and get them written!
In eight months time I have gone from retail sales to caring for a couple cutie pie grand daughters and cleaning houses one day a week! Let me explain how this all happened! Its very interesting how God moved in and out, weaving His masterpiece of a plan for me!
My youngest graduates from WSU, then lands a job immediately...oh my what? You are all moving to Oklahoma? So they have a house to sell first, I see that as Gods way of slowly getting this grandma use to the idea of her youngest moving away and taking her grandbaby and his wife away!! Now, of course, I'm seeing it as a day trip for us but upon receiving this news I cried everytime I thought about it!
So with this came the opportunity to start a house cleaning business because my daughter, Anna, would have to leave her customers in Kansas! And, she was a caregiver to our Leah! The door I saw opening for this grandma was that I was getting that one prayer request several years ago answered!!
While God was opening doors, He also shut one! My new job was to care for Leah and take on the cleaning of houses! So I had to say goodbye to retail at Best of Times. I miss those customers and my friends, Nancy Robinson and Lois Graham. But it was the right thing to do.
God shows me daily how He provides! He gave me Cord to be our provider through a great job, He supplies our needs and wants just in perfect timing! My faith in God grows deeper, my light shines as I push the darkness back!
I hope you have joy today and share it! You never know who needed it most!
